REM
Bergenhus Festning, Koengen, Bergen, Norway
September 4th 2008

Recorded by Bruno from the frontrow, to the right speaker stack using Sony ECM-DS70P>Zoom H2(44,1/16) > Card Reader > PC > Polderbits(Fade in/out/tracking/some Eq > CD-Tag > Flac(8)

Notorious diffucult to get a good recording of an out-door event with a crowd of about 20 000. Some noises at the end of 202 "The One I Love" due to Michael Stipe was sitting at the shoulder of the taper, right on the mic.  Stipe "complained" afterwards that he'd been tickled by the audience while trying to reach the high notes.  The taper denies any knowledge of this tickling.

Notes:
-Setlist highlights: Harborcoat (9), Wolves, Lower (4, last performance), At My Most Beautiful (5).
-PB lingers in the interlude of Harborcoat for longer than usual.  The band seems ready for this, as if it was rehearsed that way.
-MS notes that they stopped at a convenience store on the way to buy go to the bathroom and buy Norwegian porn, cheese, salami and a couple dvd's.  He sends Wolves out to the clerk.
-PB's ebow is a bit off kilter with the rest of the band during Walk Unafraid.
-Before IOL MS notes they don't have dancers & backup singers because it cheesy, so he asks the crowd to fill that role.  He also notes it is cold.
-MS asks for cell phones prior to Electrolite, to re-create "one of the most fucked up cities in the western hemisphere".
-MS congratulates Norway on allowing gay marriage & notres Norway is apparently safe if the polar ice caps melt.

Grade: D
-mics overload with kick drum, occasionally vocals.
