R.E.M.
2008/06/19
Madison Square Garden
New York, NY

This is a corrected version of my previously-posted recording.  The corrections are:

- Much better sound quality, starting over from scratch.

- Proper separation and corrected listings of "The One I Love" and "Until the Day is Done".  (The previous torrent mistakenly had them as one continuous song.)

Sorry for the sloppy original posting of this show.  Thanks.

The sold-out crowd was a little bit more noisy this night, but it did not distract at all from the great music!  Leaving New York was a nice (but somewhat expected) surprise and it was awesome to hear Rockville live again.

I sure hope that someone videotaped the show.  The lighting and the visual effects, including the worldwide debut of the video for Man-Sized Wreath, were absolutely stunning.  Kudos to Susanne and Blue!

Looking forward to seeing lots and lots of shows here from their upcoming European tour!

Enjoy!

Thanks!

-Before LNY MS notes the debut of some video footage that will be used for something I couldn't quite make out.  He then identifies a fan who 'looks miserable' and offers them ear plugs, then water in an attempt to cheer them up. He adds that they haven't played or rehearsed LNY in three years.

-Standard into to Houston.
-Before Electrolite, MS talks briefly about wanting to steal things from Modest Mouse and The National, then introduces Electrolite as "kind of about the end of the world or whatever, which I seem to spend a great deal of time thinking about.  This is one of those, but one of the more hopeful ones".
-Before Rockivelle, MM talks about seeing Tom Petty at MSG 2 nights prior.  After the song MS admits he never knows when to clap.
-After Harborcoat, MS notes the influence The English Beat had on the song.
-After inros MS notes the previous time they played there was the day after the 2004 election, and the somber mood of the place that night.
