****D2 T1 is mislabled in the original text--it is Walk Unafraid****
Notes:
-Before Drive, MS 'here and now' then "We're playing heare again tomorrow if anyone wants to freeze their asses off a second night".
-Driver 8 is noted as a request via the website.
-Before Bad Day, MS tosses some "slightly used hand warmers" to the crowd, noting "They don't work anymore" and cautioning, "Do not eat it".
-Before TOIL MS notes he is warming up "Are you guys rubbing yourselves together like wood out there ot what"?
-I've Been High is also noted as a request "It's also one of the more difficult ones". MS encourages the crowd to sing loudly to cover an mistakes.
-WLP is noted as a request, as is So Central. Before So Central MS "There is a fun provenance to this song in that the first time we played it publicly was on the David Letterman Show in 1984?...'83. And I didn't have a proper shirt to wear for television so I borrlowed one from my friend Chris Slay(?) and it was this shredded army jacket in camoflauge. I wouldn't wear camoflauge if you paid me. Bit it looked really cool. and kind of macho. Anyway [stuters] this is what happens when people interrupt me. So I had an eye infection that lasted for about a year and the only glasses that I could afford were kind of dark and so everyone thought I was a snob or an asshole or something. I wasn't, I just had pinkeye. Anyway we do the song and the people at the Dzvid Letterman Show. We did the pre-show, the thing you have to do and the people at the Letterman Show said 'All right David's going to walk over, Mr. Letterman is going to walk over and he's going to speak to one of you' so we deemed Peter, who at the time was the loquacious one, to be the one. So we did our song, we did it great actually and I sat down. What I didn't know is when I sat down I went out of camera, so I just kind of sunk and David shot me this look and that was the first time anyone ever called me enigmatic and I fucking hate that word and I always have ever since. I make sense. I really do. It's my own sense but I make sense. I just wanted to say that tonight. In that we are in mountain time is that correct? There's a hidden lyric in this song that applies directly to each and every one of you".
-MS directs the passing out of something before Find The River "Pass them out. Give one to each person around you. Share the wealth."
-Before LMR MS "I'm going to mention the T4(?) guys because you didn't think I would. I'm wearing your key, right here, wait where is it? Oh shit I lost it! It fell off in my frantic dancing". He sends the song out to Ed Harcourt and then gives a standard intro.
-Before I believe MS "this song is also a request. It's just a big request night, I don't know why, maybe because we are in Denver. Some of the imagery in this song--Is it ok if I talk for a little bit? Some of the imagery in this song comes from when I was just a little shrimp boat. A little precocious, arrogant, capricorn sun, pisces moon, libra rising army brat from Georgia. Some of the people who knew me then are here tonight and I haven't seen them in a long time". He tells his old friends he'll see them backstage after the show and everyone else he'll see them at the clothing optional club in town "and it's heated". "But this is a song that has a lot imagery in it from when I was a kid and I had scarlet fever and it boiled my brain and that was ok, it turned out like this. And also it's the hardest song we've ever written to sing, so if you know the words, shout them".
-Before MOTM MS explains that a certain gesture refers to Andy Kaufman.
-MS points out Mars and notes his spotlights look like planets to him. Then notes Nightswimming is a "very particular and a vey specific request. Brian? If you have a question to ask, now is the time to do it".
-IOL is sent out to Wilco and Johnny Cash because "deep in his heart I think he would appreciate that it was the #1 single in Japan".
