notes: Falls To Climb and Hope were again played by Stipe solo. Mike does backing vocals on E-bow rather than Patti Smith. Long Legged Girl is an Elvis song which Stipe sings a few verses of.

This is the third of the UK shows that I recorded during the Up Tour. I was sitting in Row C, about 10 metres away from the Mike side P.A.stack. I think it's the best sounding of these shows but you can be the judge of that.

So it happened tonight, like 5, 6 songs back and I was facing in this direction at the time and I did this thing that our President Bill Clinton does on TV a lot. He sticks his jaw out like this and I realized I was doing that. I think it's because we're in Manchester. I can't say why but there it is. I think of Manchester and I think of strong jaws. Do we have time? I do remember. The power went out and people spit on us. I very much remember that. Our first show in Manchester. Many, many centuries ago, before time. Oh there's this other thing that I've been doing a lot but I know that he got it from me all right? I read this article in a magazine about a month ago that the one incredibly alluring thing about Brad Pitt is that he licks his lips a lot. Now, I've always licked my lips a lot and I've had sticky fruit with Brad, so I think maybe he got it from me. Just kidding. But I've become really aware of every time I do that I'm really self conscious about it which is humiliating. No this is humiliating. Anyway...sorry that...I don't know why I felt the urge to share that with each and every one of you tonight but there it is, in a desperate attempt to feel warmth, as a whole". He goes on to blame it on a Lenny Bruce ad he saw recently.
