Timeline notes: Final show of the '95 World Tour, and the only time 'Radio Free Europe' is performed during the whole tour. Amanda Brown plays violin on 'Losing My Religion', 'Binky The Doormat', 'Strange Currencies', 'Find The River', 'Nightswimming' & 'Everybody Hurts'. 'Zither' was initially performed without Bill & Michael while they went for a bathroom break, & Bill joined halfway on drums & Michael also hit on Bill's drums with a drumstick when he rejoined. This concert was filmed for 'Road Movie', and video footage from this show appears on the release. 'Leave' performed at soundcheck was released on 1996's 'New Adventures In Hi-Fi'.
Notes:
-Fall On Me is introduced as "From the pleistocene era. When dinosaurs roamed the earth".
-Before Wake Up Bomb MS "We'll try to maintain a degree of professionalism tonight. Or maybe the fuck not".
-MS before Binky "Margarie Garber would have a shit fit if she heard this song".
-Before B&B MS has a fan toss him a shirt and after inpecting it states he doesn't like it & wouldn't wear it. "I'm sure it looks great on you though". He goes on to note that 3 of the 4 female backup singers on the studio version are in attendance.
-Undertow gets the extended feedback outtro & MS seggests clothing removal.
-Strange Currencies is dedicated to the people in the cheap seats, without the typical I wish I was in the back row part.
-Revolution is a boys song like an Arthur Rembo(?) Rimbaud(?) song.
-Country Feedback solo 1:49, by far the longest of the tour.
-Soundcheck should have included RFE. Perhaps the worst version ever. That being said, love that they did it.
-Rousing ITEOTWAWKI, with MS practically yodeling at different points. As the song approaches it's end, MS changes the lyrics to "it's the end of the tour", and MM follows suit with the backup vocals. MS goes on to chide his bandmates as Wild Thing gets underway "You better stay up here!" A fine send-off for R.E.M. as a four legged dog.
