Timeline notes: The doctors who were involved in Bill Berry's operation were invited and sat backstage during the concert. Michael made a speech of about 30 seconds about that difficult time and thanked them for saving Bill's life.
Notes:
-As the Timeline notes, before Undertow MS "We're here for one reason. We were in Swizerland like a couple months ago and we played a show in Lausanne and we had a little accident and Bill, our drummer Bill, can I have a spotlight? Bill got a big headache. How's your head now Bill? It's allright? Cool. Allright so we're fucking happy that we were in Switzerland. You know if Bill had to have an anyuerism he picked a pretty good time to have it and so this next song is going out to the two people who made it possible for us to be here tonight: the doctors who operated on Bill's head are here in the audience and we would like to thank them with all of our hearts. Dr Dichivolay and Dr Redley this song goes ot to you. It's a new song. It's about drowning. It was inspired by Polly Harvey, it's a song about death".
-Before MOTM, MS "You know I'm trying really hard not to be aloof. It's difficult because I don't speak German. Excpet to say (?) which doesn't really you know that doesn't apply right now. But I'm going to take this opportunity while Bill is peeing behind the drum kit to introduce the next song". After giving the brief SNL/Kaufman story he goes on "WE wrote this song about a search for a higher place. We didn't turn to Jesus or Mohammed or Buddha of Krishna, we turned to Andy Kaufman--can you stop whistling? I'm trying to talk here. Thank you. We turned to Andy Kaufman to be our Ulysses on the journey towards spirituality". He tacks on the line about more yeahs than Nirvana. MS also introduces Departure as a song about death.
-Get up has a psychadelic flavored interlude
-Before band intros, MS notes he arrived at 12:30 to see the other bands on the bill. He also intros PB as from Seattle and claims that BB is from Neptune and intros ITEOTWAWKI as such: "If you had to jack off to a picture of Stevie Nicks in 1995 this song would probably be the soundtrack for that little scenario".
