Timeline notes: Natalie Merchant guests on 'Swan Swan H'. A whole verse of 'Driver 8' is sung solo by Michael before the band kicks in and the song is performed in its entirety. Michael is hit in the face with a glowstick during 'Midnight Blue', the band finish the song, & promptly walk off stage. 'Talk About The Passion', 'Life And How To Live It' & 'Just A Touch', which were on the written setlist for the 2nd encore were not played.
Notes:
-For the 2nd tine in the tour, MS notes that King Of Birds is his favorite song. I think it's a more genuine statement than he would use later for Get Up.
-Before ITEOTWAWKI, MS gives a rundon of his main talking point to date: "Let's talk about the SanAndreas fault. No, let's talk about the stock market for awhile. No, let's talk about Iran for awhile. No, let's talk about West Virginia for a while. No, let's talk about the quality of the water ibn New Jersey for awhile. No, let's talk about the TV set for a while. No, let's talk about Russia as a new favorite American hobby for a while. No, shut up, shut up, you shut the fuck up". During the interlude " I can't, I can (repeatedx3) the new best seller by L Ron Hubbard (?) change your life now!"
-During Midnight Blue MS is hit by the glowstick at the part of the song that is spoken He subs in: " Youre a fucking shithead and you belong at home in your linving room. If you ever throw a (?) onstage while people are playing, you could hit them in the eye and put out their eye for life! And that's a serious thing! And just remember what your mama said to you when she brought you up right, she said 'Don't be a shithead when you grow up!'. Fucker!" After the band leaves the crowd chants 'asshole' over and over until MS comes back for Harpers. Someone near the taper comments 'He was so mad when that guy hit him!'
Grade: B
-Bass guitar is non-existent, otherwise might be an A
*************************
HD version: Master. Similar sound but misses last three songs & crowd chanting 'asshole'. Does not have the female voice saying 'He was so mad when that guy hit him!" at the beginning of Harpers
