I have another version of this show that is a an uncut tape transfer. It has the complete Harborcoat, but it, is very tinny sounding.
Notes:
-Repaired(?) skip in I Believe
-During We Walk MS "My name is Micheal...Peter, Biiiill and Mike. I got a hat the size of Oooooklahoma. Pleased to meet you. Can I get you anything? Are you feeling allright? Are you happy? That was strictly rhetorical, you have no need to reply". Last sentance is repeated several times as crowd cheers after each. Finally MS sighs and the song ends.
-Auctioneer intro includes spoken snippets of at least two songs: "Time has come to be engaged ...Theyr'e marching off (?)...Another place another time another house...the catacombs are where (?) In Cambridge the goodies the baddies with women in parlors and ladies in (?) hold the ice...Crescent down to New Orleans...So he stood there and waited for a long, long time. $179.43 is a lot of money to pay for a trip. Once they got on, they knew there was no getting off the trip...Get me to the train on time take this nickel make a dime. What is at the other end? I don't know. What is at the other end? I don't know, another friend? Another (?)
-The Elvis story is about 8:00 in length, spanning two tracks. Mostly similar to 1986-10-19, with the addition that he named the manager because "he was a fucking dick". Also, he is demonstrating a part of the Impersonator's Elvis shimmy when he mentions a drum bit causing BB to launch into some drumming, which MS immediately reacts to "Don't!" He finally cuts it off saying "Because of the union, we only have 10 more minutes to play so I'm going to shut up"
Grade: A
-Touch boomy on the bass side, couple skips noted, but quite enjoyable.

Dave and I worked very close to each other. He would let me borrow his equipment to tape shows. I would return his equipment with a copy of the show I taped and he would give me shows he taped. He gave my roommate and I alot of REM shows. Some of those are not widely circulated. This seems to be one of them. Another great show and another very good recording. He had a problem during Harborcoat (Track 2) and there is 3:49 of dead air. The dead air is track 3. Track 4 is Lightning Hopkins as it cuts in. You can decide if you want to include the dead air. Enjoy!!
