Two versions of this show, a David O Thomas Master and a Stonecutter 1st gen. They are both good but neither is perfect. DO Thomas is a little bassy and Stonecutter is a little trebly.

R.E.M. Reconstruction tour northeast - 20th anniversary series, Volume 3.
August 23, 1985 - Leroy Theater, Pawtucket, RI
Sony TCD-6M/Nacamichi CM-300 > Audience cassette master > Cassette > Cassette > CDR > dBpowerAMP > WAV > FLAC Frontend > Flac files
This might be the best recording of the August shows. It is very crisp, and the drums do not dominate the sound as they do on Toronto and Barrymore's. As with my two previous posts, David O. Thomas taped this show. There are occasional level fluctuations, but nothing major. Again, I would give this at least an A-/EX-.
The show is very tight and straightforward, with lots of energy. They mostly stick to their standard covers, although they drop in a few originals they did not play as frequently, such as Camera. But for those seeking the unusual shows, this might be one to skip.

NOTES: this show was provided on three sides spanning two cassettes. the second side seems to have a considerably lower quality in terms of sound clarity as compared to the first and, to a lesser extent, the third side. it is unclear if this was the result of a poor dub from the master, defective tape, or if the varying quality is part of the master cassettes.
bill: R.E.M./The Three O'Clock
This show is from the Stonecutter Archives who was kind enough to share some of his tapes for this forum. If you have masters that you would like to share, but lack the tools, time, or know-how, please contact me and I will be happy to discuss them with you. thanks.

Notes:
-Must have been a pleasant change of scenery to go from last night's hockey arena to the gorgeous old Leroy Theater
-volume fluctuates during Diver 8
-before West Os The Fields, MS tells a story about riding on a train to New Orleans to see a friend off
-bass levels fluctuate during Pretty Persuasion
-PB drops out briefly during Life And How To Live it
-Rockville is a little rough, and MS explains his part in it after the song
-shoe concludes with a raucous Little America and a list of things to do from MS
Grade: A (both)
-I'm sure the acoustics of the building helped.
-lengthy show
