Notes on 2025 revision:

This is my digital revision of a recording I acquired in 2011 -- probably through an online share, but I cannot now recall the exact source. As received, I thought the recording sounded like a low-generation soundboard source that, unfortunately, had been subjected to a low tech, blunt force filter of some kind. Whatever had been done to it left it sounding like it had been wrapped in a sonic muffler. I was pleased to discover it responded well to a digital revision.

Here's what I did using Audacity 3.7 for Mac:

- normalized volume & DC offset
- reduced speed & tempo by 1.0%
- amplified the left channel by 2% on average
- made 1 pass of noise reduction to address tape hiss
- made 2 passes of graphic eq to adjust frequencies across the spectrum
- added or extended fades for tracks 1, 7 & 12

I believe the end result is a better listen: clearer, smoother and crisper, with better instrumental separation than the original files as I received them. It also sounds better running at the correct speed and tempo! Your ears will be the final judge.

Above info from www.remtimeline.com

The first of two soundboard recordings from consecutive nights at the I&I Club.

No-one knows if these were the complete sets but the quality is really good.

These recordings originally came from "a respected author and journalist" who made a cassette copy
for another a respected author and journalist" around ten years ago. The recordings were cleaned
up in Cool Edit Pro sorting out a couple of tracks which were split, had gaps etc. They were I think orignally seeded on the now defunct dedicated REM tracker.

The CDR on which I received them a couple of years ago was extracted using EAC then everything else was done on TLH
